About Ro

As Vice President and General Manager, Ro Brual, RPh, plays a critical leadership role at Forefront Collaborative in its mission to deliver top-quality independent healthcare education. He incorporates patient, payer, and healthcare professional insights into his daily work. Ro brings more than 30 years of experience in sales, marketing, and medical education with a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company with more than 10 years of experience in continuing medical education. He is a registered pharmacist and a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy. In his spare time, Ro and his wife enjoy spending time with their three children. Ro is a cantor at his church and sings in his church choir. He has led 20 medical mission trips to Haiti for his church in the past 15 years.


As Associate Director of Development, Jonathan Scoble establishes and maintains relationships with grantors, collaborators, and educational partners. In doing so, he discerns business opportunities that align with the company's mission and values through relationship building, negotiation, and timely facilitation of educational grant proposals. Jonathan also plays a key role in conceptualization of strategy and tactics, managing proposals through all stages of development and execution. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts where he earned a bachelors in management, Jonathan has close to ten years of CME industry experience, having worked in both academia and the industry sector prior to returning to Forefront Collaborative where he started his career. In his spare time, Jonathan is an avid golfer, a backwoods camping enthusiast, and a hopelessly dedicated freshwater angler.

About Kathy

As Content Associate, Kathleen Cox, MA, has over 40 years of experience as an editor and communication specialist. Kathy supports the content team in the development of accurate medical educational content deliverables such as slides, speaker notes, outlines, handouts, evaluations, faculty communications, audience generation copy, and other initiatives, as well as the business development team in the development and submission of grant proposals. Kathy received her Bachelor and Master of Arts in Journalism from The Ohio State University. She is a member of the American Medical Writers Association and a former member of the International Association of Business Communicators and Women in Communications.

About Marianna

As Director of Educational Development and Research, Marianna Shershneva, MD, PhD, works on educational and research projects in multiple clinical areas, and has extensive experience collaborating with professional societies and academic and community partners. Trained as a rheumatologist in Russia, Dr. Shershneva acquired additional expertise as an educational researcher and medical educator through her participation in Ukrainian medical education reform and graduate study in adult education in the US. She has authored and co-authored more than 20 papers devoted to medical education, educational measurement, program evaluation, and the improvement of clinical practice. Dr. Shershneva enjoys reading and is also an outdoors enthusiast, spending her free time exploring new places or camping in the company of family and friends.

About Katie

Katie Detzler, CAPM, Associate Director, manages the planning, execution, sustainment, and growth of multi-organization, multiyear initiatives with established partners. As such, she is instrumental in overall initiative success, having responsibility for project milestones, partner communications, day-to-day operations, and budget/financial aspects. A graduate of Indiana University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications with a double minor in Psychology and Human Development and Family Studies, Katie is also a Certified Associate in Project Management. In her spare time, she enjoys antiquing, interior design, and spending time with family and friends.

About Valerie

As Medical Education Director, Valerie Siclari, PhD, leads the diabetes Medical Education initiatives at Forefront Collaborative with the goal of improving care and outcomes of patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Dr Siclari completed her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics at the University of Virginia and post-doctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania. Over the years, she has honed her skills in medical education, leading the development of presentations that both educate and engage audiences. She has more than 8 years of academic laboratory research experience, and 7 years of medical communications experience. She is an author on 7 peer-reviewed research publications, 2 review articles, and 2 book chapters. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, taking walks with her dog, and traveling.

About Wambui

As Medical Education Director, Wambui G. Gathirua-Mwangi, PhD, leads the oncology Medical Education initiatives at Forefront Collaborative with the goal of improving care and outcomes of cancer patients. Dr Mwangi is a Cancer Epidemiologist with a PhD in Epidemiology and a minor in Behavioral Oncology from Indiana University. She has more than 15 years of experience working in academia and nonprofit organizations, conducting research in cancer prevention, treatment, and survivorship. Over the years she has honed her skills in conducting needs assessment, proposal development, cancer treatment, health education, outcomes measurement, and data analysis. She has authored and co-authored 12 papers devoted to cancer prevention, diagnosis, and survivorship. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the outdoors with her husband and 3 kids, volunteering in her kids’ extracurricular activities, and traveling to visit family in Kenya.

About Christine

As Director of Operations, Christine Tebben manages the planning and execution of certified medical education programs conducted in a variety of program formats in compliance with all requirements related to the CE program. She also leads our educational project managers and assists with operational duties for our organization. Chris has completed extensive Project Management Institute training and is certified as a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt. She has almost 10 years of CME experience. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Advertising from Purdue University. On her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family outdoors, watching her children’s sporting events, and attending concerts.

About Leah

As Senior Educational Projects Manager, Leah Johnson assists developing medical education proposals and managing independent/certified educational projects from initiation through execution and closing for education projects. Leah has over seven years of industry experience implementing a wide range of both CME and promotional projects. Leah received her Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Franklin College. In her free time, Leah enjoys spending time with her family, reading, baking, and spending time outdoors.

About Lily

As Senior Medical Director, Lily Zurkovsky, PhD, leads the content team with the goal of improving patient care through developing continuing medical education activities. Working with cross-functional colleagues, she develops strategies to harness Forefront Collaborative’s expertise in creative, outcomes-oriented educational design across a variety of therapeutic areas, including neurology, psychiatry, rheumatology, dermatology, pain management, oncology, women’s health, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Lily completed her PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and post-doctoral training at Vanderbilt University. Before joining Forefront Collaborative, she worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a Medical Science Liaison. In her spare time, she enjoys walking and hiking with her husband, son, and two dogs and trips to visit family and friends.

About Megan

As Educational Projects Manager, Megan Ragan assists with developing medical education proposals and managing funded educational projects from initiation through execution and closing. She previously worked at an advertising agency supporting many clients as a Project Manager and Account Supervisor ensuring creative deliverables were developed within budget and on time. Megan also has a background in media buying and planning/strategy from her time working for media agencies in Chicago. She is a graduate of Indiana University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Business as a Marketing major with a minor in Sociology. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and going to concerts.
